On Sunday, Oct. 21, Your Pie franchisee Bob Rosato led seven team members from Your Pie Peachtree City and Your Pie LaGrange on a trip to Mexico Beach, Florida, to serve 500 free pizzas to local residents and first responders in the wake of Hurricane Michael.

More than a week after the hurricane made landfall, thousands of people remain in desperate need of relief services and aid. Rosato teamed up with the American Red Cross and brought their Your Pie mobile brick oven to cook free pizzas at a field kitchen at First Baptist Church in Mexico Beach. With the help of partners like Your Pie, the Red Cross has served more than 550,000 meals to hurricane victims and first responders across Georgia, Florida, and Alabama.

“When I first saw the devastation in Mexico Beach, I knew I couldn’t sit idle,” Rosato said. “Watching these disasters unfold from the outside, it’s easy to feel helpless, but I’m a firm believer that everyone has the ability to make a positive impact, simply by using the resources available to them. For us, that’s pizza. It’s a small gesture, but by giving someone a hot meal, that’s one less thing they have to worry about today. I’m proud of the seven team members from our Peachtree City and LaGrange locations who chose to donate their time and energy to help us serve those in need beyond our local communities.”

This is not the first time Rosato has used Your Pie as a platform to help others. On Oct. 17, Rosato hosted a benefit night at Your Pie LaGrange to raise money for local firefighters who were injured in a house fire over Labor Day weekend, with a second giveback night set for Nov. 7. Earlier this year, Rosato also raised money for Our Daily Bread, a ministry of the LaGrange College Servant Scholars, and hosted a community celebration night at Your Pie Peachtree City to honor Frank Nevarez Jr., a local Boy Scout who saved a classmate’s life.

“Bob is an exemplary franchisee, and I’m continually amazed by his heart for serving others and his ability to inspire those same values in his team members,” said Your Pie Founder and President Drew French. “We’re proud to have had Bob and his team representing Your Pie on the front lines in Mexico Beach, and our hearts are with all of those affected by this disaster who still have a long journey ahead.”
