Two sisters from Tyrone made history this past week at the Miss Georgia Scholarship Competition.
Friday’s win by A’Leah Burrell, a second preliminary award winner, matched her sister, Taylor, creating a historic double-preliminary record, according to a release from the competition.
Both ended up as top-five finalists on Saturday, with A’Leah Burrell earning a $3,000 scholarship as second runner-up and Taylor Burrell earning a $1,000 scholarship as fourth runner-up in the final day of the competition.
