Three men are in custody following the armed robbery of a pedestrian Thursday night.

Thursday, at roughly 9:30 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at the BP Gas station.

According to the victim, he was walking northbound on Deep Forest Lane, heading towards SR 54 when a silver Ford Focus passed him and stopped at the stop sign at Deep Forest Lane and 54. A man got of the car and approached the victim and said, “Give me all of your money.” When the victim asked “what?,” the man pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and placed the barrel on the victim’s chest.

After the victim gave his money to the suspect, the man returned to the car where it turned left onto 54.

The victim was shaking and upset due to the incident, but unharmed.

The car in the robbery was spotted roughly 30 minutes later, and officers descended on it, where three suspects were placed under arrest in the parking lot at Fayetteville First Baptist in downtown Fayetteville.

The victim was able to positively identify both the vehicle used in the robbery and the suspect that pulled the gun on him.

The three suspects, all of Fayetteville, are Viundaye M. West, 17 years old, Ray T. Glass, 18, and Stephan Willard Desir, 18.

Early reports indicated the suspects were also involved in a residential burglary in unincorporated county, but the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said their investigation determined those reports are false.
