While no team could return to the championship, there was still plenty to celebrate from this season. To put a cap on the campaign comes the 2022 All-County Girls Soccer honors. 

Anabel Orozco of Fayette County and Katherine Kimmel of McIntosh are the Co-Players of the Year. Orozco, a junior midfielder, was an unstoppable force, racking up 47 goals and 12 assists for the Tigers. Kimmel, a senior center back, was a team leader and the anchor of a stingy Chief defense that pitched 13 shutouts. 

Joining Orozco and Kimmel on the All-County Girls Soccer Team is an amazing array of talent. 

Fayette County’s members are Sokmora Teng, Yoliset Flores, and Adriana Hamilton. 

Teng, a freshman forward, tallied 18 goals and 8 assists. Flores, a senior center back, led a stingy defense. Hamilton, a junior keeper, posted 115 saves. 

McIntosh’s representatives are Keara Collins, Anna Duvall, Avery Heeb, and Caroline Kimmel. 

Collins, a senior midfielder, notched 10 goals and 5 assists in 15 games. Duvall, a senior forward, posted 10 goals and 8 assists. Heeb, a sophomore keeper, racked up 12 shutouts in 15 games, allowing just 5 total goals. Kimmel, a senior midfielder, notched 12 goals and 7 assists. 

Sandy Creek’s members are Kelsie Henton and Kennedie Henton. 

Starr’s Mill’s representatives are Olivia Silcox, Paige Panos, Ashley Ledford, Riley Munoz, Isabella Large, and Maddi Defler. 

Silcox, a senior defensive midfielder, posted 3 goals and 4 assists. Panos, a senior defender, played tough and tenacious defense. Ledford, a senior defender, was a technician. Munoz, a sophomore midfielder, tallied 5 goals and 2 assists. Large, a freshman midfielder, notched 4 goals and 5 assists. Defler, a senior defender, posted 3 goals and 6 assists. 

Whitewater’s members are Kirsten Captino, Mackenzly Cheely, Emily Rice, Emma Davis, Lauralee Walls, and Julia Geise. 

Captino, a senior midfielder, tallied a team-high 11 goals with 4 assists. Cheely, a junior, led the team in assists with 11 and added 9 goals. Rice, a senior center back, led the team in minutes played at 1,200. Davis, a senior defender, was a co-captain. Walls, a junior defender, is a 3-year starter. Geise, a junior midfielder, posted 3 goals and 7 assists.
