It was another banner year for girls lacrosse around Fayette, and with it comes All-County honors. 

Sharing top honors are stars from the two teams that reached the state semifinals. McIntosh’s Ryann Banks and Starr’s Mill’s Emma Grace Hepler are Co-Players of the Year. 

Banks, a senior attacker committed to Syracuse, was credited with 76 goals and 105 assists, sparking the Chiefs to an area championship and a berth in the Final Four. Hepler, a senior attacker, piled up 50 goals and 35 assists, along with 67 draw controls and 18 turnovers in leading the Panthers back to the semifinals. 

They are joined by a wealth of talent on the All-County Girls Lacrosse Team. 

Along with Banks, McIntosh’s members are Jamie Lee Artiles, Taylor Hautala, Jayla Jackson, Lauren Lawson, Riley Phillips, Calyn Scott, Gabby Szatkowski, and Charlotte Whitley. 

Artiles, a junior defender, anchored a stingy defense. Hautala, a junior attacker, posted 27 goals and 13 assists. Jackson, a sophomore midfielder, notched 5 goals and 2 assists. Lawson, a sophomore attacker, tallied 23 goals and 11 assists. Phillips, a junior midfielder, racked up 59 goals and 18 assists. Scott, a junior midfielder, posted 57 goals and 16 assists. Szatkowski, a senior goalie, notched 167 saves with a .596 save percentage and a 9-1 record. Whitley, a junior attacker, put up 15 goals and 5 assists. 

Joining Hepler from Starr’s Mill are Kalin Blinstrub, Kathryn Anne Lehman, Briley Kalen, Hannah Leon, Rosa Pompeo, and Kylie Valenta. 

Blinstrub, a senior defender, posted 17 ground balls, 8 turnovers, and 2 interceptions. Lehman, a senior defender and attacker, was a pivotal piece all over the field, posting 8 goals and 7 assists. Kalen, a senior midfielder/attacker, tallied 12 goals and 6 assists, along with 32 draws won. Leon, a senior attacker, racked up 66 goals and 7 assists. Pompeo, a senior goalie, put up 56 saves. Valenta, a senior midfielder, posted 18 goals and 16 assists. 

Members from the area champion Whitewater Wildcats are Jasmine Adkins, Caroline Boag, Alexa Bowman Olay, Carly Harris, Hannah Klinger, Kylie Nelson, and Alli Wright. 

Adkins, a sophomore defender, put up 17 turnovers and 34 ground balls. Boag, a senior defender, posted 26 ground balls and 13 turnovers. Bowman Olay, a senior midfielder, tallied 36 goals and 9 assists. Harris, a senior attacker, racked up 30 goals and 11 assists. Klinger, a sophomore attacker, posted 33 goals and 22 assists. Nelson, a sophomore midfielder, notched 41 goals and 6 assists. Wright, a senior goal, put up 62 saves with a .500 save percentage. 

Representing Fayette County High are Nwanne Eke and Sydney Johnson. Eke, a senior attacker/midfielder, led the team in scoring, including 6 goals against Eagle’s Landing. Johnson, a senior goalie, posted 61 saves on the season.
