Pinewood Atlanta Studios names first president

ATLANTA (November 17, 2016) — Pinewood Atlanta Studios, the third-largest film studio in the United States, and the largest purpose-built film studio outside of Hollywood, has appointed Frank Patterson as its first president. Patterson will assume the newly created role on Jan. 1, 2017. He will report to the Pinewood Atlanta Studios board of directors.

Patterson will provide strategic leadership and oversee the planned expansion of Pinewood Atlanta Studios, ensuring its continued success with film, television, music, video games, digital and other production. He (more…)

Developers unveil new Pinewood Forrest plans

pinewood.planPinewood Forrest developers wowed the media and special guests Thursday morning as they unveiled not only the latest visual rendering of what the 234-acre property will look like across the street from Pinewood Atlanta Studios, but also what their vision is for who will be served by the massive project.

While previous versions of Pinewood Forrest were similar in that they showed a mixed-use development that was commonly called a “live-work-play” community, this new drawing and concept is being called a “live-create-play” community offering:

Will Disney leave Fayetteville over HB 757?

Fayetteville, Georgia is making international news again thanks to its links to the film and television industry, and this time in particular thanks to reports that heavy-hitters like Disney may bail out of Fayette and out of Georgia entirely if Governor Nathan Deal signs the recently passed Georgia House Bill 757 into law.
