McIntosh rides offensive outburst to 12-1 win over Fayette

McIntosh declared their pivotal baseball series against Fayette County as the start of a new season.

After dropping four of their last seven games, the Chiefs wanted to start the back nine of the schedule on a high note. With 10 games remaining, head coach David Munoz knew his team needed to make a late push into state playoff contention.

Sheriff’s investigators looking for Wednesday bank robber

 

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office investigators are looking for a suspect in the Wednesday afternoon armed robbery of the Fidelity Bank located at the corner of Hwy. 54 West and Norton Road, not far from Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

According to Public Information Officer Allen Stevens, the incident took place at 2:33 p.m. when a man entered the bank, approached a teller, and gave them a note demanding money. The suspect reportedly brandished a black handgun that appeared to be a semi-automatic model.

Stevens said there were no injuries and the suspect did get away with an undisclosed amount of money. (more…)
