Suicide Squad sequel set as next to film at Pinewood

The newest movie to film at Pinewood Atlanta has been announced. According to website HN Entertainment, the primary filming location for James Gunn’s upcoming Suicide Squad sequel will be Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville.

Suicide Squad is a DC Comics property, while previous comic books movies filmed at Pinewood Atlanta Studios where Marvel Comics properties. 

The stage location is where James previously shot “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2” and is expected to shoot “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3” as well once he’s finished with The Suicide Squad.

Filming is said to begin this September.

The returning cast is Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. The new additions are reportedly Idris Elba, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, John Cena, and possibly Storm Reid as Elba’s daughter.

Warner Bros. has given the Suicide Squad a release date of August 6th, 2021.
