Two Subway employees were robbed at gunpoint Thursday night.
As the Subway on Hwy. 138 was nearing closing time, two black males wearing hoodies and masks and wielding guns stole the cash register from the Subway and tied up two employees — one male and one female — working at the store. No shots were fired.
“The good thing is no one was injured,” said Fayette County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Allen Stevens.
The robbers exited through the rear door of the Subway while the employees were tied up by their hands and feet with tape in the back room. Once the employees freed themselves, they called 911 at 9:56 p.m.
The two males who stole the money are still at large.
“We don’t know the direction of travel they took after they left,” Stevens said.
