A 22 year old was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of his father.
Christopher Joseph is charged with malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault after a March 31 incident left his father, Georges Joseph, 60, dead.
Sheriff Barry Babb said the Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic call March 31 at 10:53 p.m. at 200 Greenfield Drive. When the officers arrived, they discovered Georges Joseph unconscious and transported him to Piedmont Fayette Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Babb said the younger Joseph also had visible injuries, but refused treatment. After further investigation, the department ascertained Christopher Joseph was the primary aggressor and arrested him Wednesday.
The arrest marks the first time in nearly two years the department has investigated a murder. In June, 2017, Albert DeMagnus was murdered at his home in south Fayette County.
