Queens of the Hardwood Classic brings top girls teams to Whitewater Dec. 16

Whitewater High School will be the site for a showcase of some of the top girls basketball teams in the southeast this Saturday.

“I am very excited to host such a event at Whitewater High School. This is an all-girls showcase where each team playing will have a Division One player on their team,” said Whitewater coach Rashad Muhyee. “If you like girls basketball, Whitewater High School will be the place to be on December 16. It is going to be a great night for girls basketball, Fayette County, and the Whitewater basketball family.”

The teams signed up for the first annual event feature perennial state title contenders from around the region. The action will kickoff with Fayette County versus defending state champion Wesleyan at 3 p.m, followed by Whitewater and Lithia Springs. Next up are St. Francis (Final Four 2017) versus Hoover (reigning champion from Birmingham, AL) and Eagles Landing vs Memphis Central (Elite Eight in TN). The night finishes off with Harrison (state runner up) and Collins Hill (Final Four).
