PTC Police make arrest in Aug. 3 armed burglary

PTC armed burglary arrest mugshotPeachtree City Police this week announced an arrest made in the Aug. 2 armed burglary that was reported on Blue Smoke Trail near Flat Creek Country Club.
Quincy Timothy Northern, 23, of Newnan, who is currently in custody in DeKalb County Jail, was charged with Home Invasion 1st Degree. He was reportedly one of three suspects in the case. According to Sergeant Odilia Berg, investigators are still searching for the other suspects.
According to police reports, the victims are owners of an out-of-county restaurant and had returned home from the restaurant moments before the three men forced entry into the home, pistol-whipped an elderly man in the home, and stole cash and valuables. The suspects then also stole the family’s minivan, which was recovered abandoned along Interstate 85 in Union City.
Lieutenant Mark Brown said at the time that residents were injured in the burglary, but he said they were treated at the scene and were not in serious condition.
Brown said he didn’t believe the crime was random. He said he thought the suspects had followed the residents home from their restaurant expecting them to have a large amount of cash on them.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Peachtree City Police at 770-487-8866 or 770-461-HELP.
