By Leah Banks — On Mar. 2, a wooden pole that is connected to a power line off of Highway 54 caught fire and has caused a series of power outages and traffic delays in the Peachtree City area.
According to the Facebook account of the Peachtree City Police Department and Fire Rescue, the intersection of Hwy. 54 between Flat Creek and Commerce are shut down due to the fire. Both directions of the road are shut down and citizens are being asked to avoid this area.
Due to the fire, the power was out at both Hwy. 54 and 74. The outage stretched to the Walmart location in Peachtree City.
