PEACHTREE CITY — Happy Hour was taken to a new level when police arrested a suspect for driving under influence (DUI) after picking his child up from sporting practice.

According to the report, a call was made to the Peachtree City Police on June 16 regarding the possibility of an intoxicated person.

When officers arrived, they met with the complainant who said that he noticed that a parent arrived to pick up their child from practice and that the parent was possibly intoxicated. He stated that the father arrived on scene shortly after.

While the officers were speaking with the female suspect, an officer recognized the smell of alcohol coming from the husband’s breath.

The husband, Reid A. Collier, 37, was arrested for DUI and was transported to the Fayette County Jail after participating in the standardized field sobriety.
