PEACHTREE CITY — Peachtree City police are searching for burglars responsible for a liquor store break-in on March 20.

On March 20 at 5:10 a.m., officers responded to the area of R Liquor store off Highway 54 in Peachtree City regarding an intrusion alarm.

According to the police report, the front door had signs of forced entry when officers arrived. Officers then checked and cleared the business and did not locate anybody inside.

According to Peachtree City Spokesperson Chris Hyatt, it is unclear if this incident is related to similar break-ins that have occurred in the area over the past several weeks.

“They are matching similar, obviously in time frames and locations and all, but I do not know if we have any similarities like suspects or vehicles that are matching up as of yet at this point,” Hyatt said.

The keyholder to the store arrived as well as the criminal investigation division and examined the store.

The owner advised he would create an estimated amount on the loss of goods from the break-in and follow up with officers later.

More information will be provided as this story develops.
