Mary Jean McGinn

Mary Jean McGinn (formerly Jackson), of Fayetteville, Georgia, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the age of 68.
She was born on June 9, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Eugene Douglas Davis and the late Christine Eleanor Copeland (Woods).
Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 36 years, Ernie P. Jackson Sr. of Peachtree City; her sister, Sally Ann Hedden of Peachtree City. Mary Jean is survived by her current husband, John Francis McGinn of Fayetteville; and her two children, Ernie P. Jackson Jr. and wife, JoAnne Jackson, and Tina Loyd (Jackson) and her husband Mitch Loyd; her three grandchildren, Eva Danielle (Dani) Jackson, Christina (Nicki) Nicole Jackson, and Darrell Thomas Loyd, all of Peachtree City; Also surviving are her sisters, Joyce Britt (Davis), of Fayetteville, Pat Hudson (Cox) of Peachtree City, Linda Kreinhop (Davis) of Devine, TX; her brothers, Jordan Davies of Atlanta, GA and Tony Davis of Greenville, SC, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary Jean retired from Georgia-Pacific in Atlanta, Georgia after a twenty-eight year career in 2015. She was an award-winning member of the Southern Photography Society and an active member of the Fayette County volunteer community. She was also a dedicated member of Peachtree City Christian Church and a Peachtree City resident for over thirty years and has spent the past eight as a Fayetteville resident. Mary Jean enjoyed extensive travel with her friends and family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Peachtree City Christian Church. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. All friends and family are invited to attend a “Celebration of Life” following the funeral service.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Guatemala Mission of Peachtree City Christian Church in memory Mary Jean’s memory.
