Margaret Lane Sanders Hunter

1806590_profile_picMargaret Lane Sanders Hunter, 86, of Greenville passed away on June 3, 2016. She was born on May 3, 1930 in Decatur.  Mrs. Hunter was a very generous, loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Margaret died suddenly of a massive cardiovascular event at her home in Greenville, GA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howell Hunter Jr and son Sanders Howell Hunter.  She is survived by her children, Carroll Maria Hunter-Hall of Greenville, Clifton Harris (Tina) Hunter of Sugar Hill, Elizabeth Lane (Michael) Harrington of Alexandria, LA, and Robert Lloyd (Cynthia) Hunter of Hogansville; grandchildren Benjamin Sanders (Jeni) Hunter, Christopher Timms Hunter, Margaret Gene Hunter, Bryan Lloyd Hatchett, Sarah Lane (Rich) Coppola, Andrew Benham Hague, Christina Marie Hunter; great-grandchildren Connor Coppola, Donald Coppola and Beckham Hunter; and her sisters, Sybil Maria Sanders Neel and Sarah Ann Sanders Long.
Mrs. Hunter retired from Christian City Convalescent Center after nearly 20 years of service, and was notably in the establishment of a volunteer program. For more than 50 years, Mrs. Hunter served the Girl Scouts of America in various capacities.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Rev. Randy Nix officiating.  Burial will immediately follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.  The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, www.girlscoutsatl.org/en/support-us/invest-in-girls–change-the-world.html or The Active Life Senior Center in LaGrange, GA, www.theactivelife.org/ .
