A Jonesboro man was arrested on Feb. 1 in association with a string of auto burglaries that took place in 2021, according to records from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Franklin Q. Sapp, 17, of Jonesboro, was charged with seven felony counts of entering auto, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and one count of reckless conduct, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb said Franklin and three other individuals broke into seven vehicles throughout Fayette County on Sep. 29 and Sep. 30.
Among the vehicles impacted, several were located off of Bates Avenue in Fayetteville. Police spoke with the owners of the cars, who initially did not report anything missing but later identified stolen items.
According to Babb, all four parties involved in the incident have been arrested, with Franklin being the most recent on Feb. 1.
