Introducing the 2016 Basketball Freshmen of the Year

Nate Allison of Starr’s Mill and Jada Claude of Whitewater earn Freshman of the Year honors.

Basketball has some bright days ahead in Fayette County. Along with the All-County teams comes honors for the top young stars.
Nate Allison of Starr’s Mill is the Boys Freshman of the Year. Allison was second on the Panthers with 12.2 points a game and first with 6.5 rebounds per game. He was also named his region’s Freshman of the Year. In a year dominated by seniors on the boys side, Allison made a mark for himself as the clear choice.
Jada Claude of Whitewater is the Girls Freshman of the Year. Claude has already developed into one of the top defensive forces in the county. She posted 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks a night. Claude had to beat out stiff competition from her own teammates to take freshman honors.
