Fayette County fire fighters battled a residential blaze late Thursday morning at 145 Heritage Way in the Brandon Mill subdivision off New Hope Road north of Fayetteville.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Tom Bartlett, the call was received at 10:54 a.m., and units arrived on the scene five minutes later. The house, he said, was already “well involved” in flames.

Bartlett said the residents were at home at the time, but they were not injured. He said fire fighters were also not injured.

The cause of fire is still under investigation, he said.
