Fayetteville jewelry theft suspects quickly apprehended

Four suspects have been arrested in this morning’s smash-and-grab robbery at the Fayetteville Kay Jewelers store in the Fayette Pavilion shopping center.

According to Lieutenant Mike Whitlow, three men walked into the jewelry store this morning around 11:30, smashed the jewelry case with a hammer and grabbed several pieces of jewelry before running out of the store. He said several witnesses saw the suspects enter a gray Ford Fusion sedan, which was driven by a fourth suspect. They called 9-1-1.

At 11:37 a.m., a Fayetteville Police patrol officer reportedly spotted the suspects’ vehicle and with the help of backup units apprehended all four suspects.

Whitlow said evidence from the robbery was in the vehicle.

Charged in the incident are Christian Wright, 23, of Doraville; Clarence Dow-Owens, 18, of Riverdale; Quintaveus Samples, 17, of Riverdale; and Legend Bridges, 19, of College Park. They have all be charged with Robbery by Snatching and Criminal Damage to Property, and as of late Thursday afternoon they were all still in Fayette County Jail.
