Fayetteville Fire Department celebrates its 75th birthday Saturday, and you are invited to the party.
Fire Station 91 at the corner of Glynn Street (Hwy. 85) and Johnson Avenue is the place to be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as the fire department will host an open house including fire truck displays, station tours, Fire Safety House, fire extinguisher training, an inflatable slide, a bouncy house, prizes for kids, and free hot dogs, chips, and drinks for all.
In fact, everything is free.
According to Fire Chief Alan Jones, the Peachtree City Fire Department is joining the fun by offering the fire extinguisher training, and the Fairburn Fire Department is providing the interactive Fire Safety House, which is always a favorite with children and parents.
Ample free parking is available directly across Glynn Street at the Fayette County Administrative Complex. You may then use the signaled crosswalk a the corner of Glynn Street and Stonewall Avenue (Hwy. 54) to make your way to Station 91.
