Several City of Fayetteville employees were honored Wednesday during the city’s Christmas luncheon for reaching years-of-service milestones, including one employee who was recognized for more than three decades with Fayetteville.
Water Department Field Operations Supervisor Marc Matthews earned the loudest round of applause after being called up to accept his 30-years award. Not far behind him was Fire Captain Keith Harris with his 25-year award.
At 20 years of service were Mike Matthews, Robert Mask, Chris Hindman, Jermaine Taylor and Tony Haponski. At 15 years were Danielle Ballard and Kelvin Joiner.
Five employees were congratulated on serving 10 years: Blaze Brookshaw, Chad Myers, Guy Walls, Scott Israel and Greg Moody. Craig Harper and Levi Hill were both recognized for five years of service.
Very special recognition was given to rookie Fayetteville employees who have been on the payroll less than a year. They were marched on stage at the luncheon and asked to sing a Christmas carol.
