Fayette GOP warns of media’s use of purple, mind control

A monthly newsletter sent out by the Fayette County Republican Party is causing a stir online with claims that the media is using the color purple as part of a “mind-control” plot to help lead the country on a path of destruction.

The letter signed by Chairman Tyrone Jones urges taking a stand against left-wing ideology and “the progressives who are hell-bent on destroying America.”

The letter goes on to call for a close watch over media pundits and the colors they wear.

“They have a silent signal that they send out to one another. They wear purple. The men wear purple neck ties and the women have increased their purchases of purple garments.”

The letter labels the wearing of purple as “subliminal messaging” and part of a plan to poison society, and it also claims the media is “bought and paid for by a faceless group of Global Elites.”

“The media’s job is to help lead this country down the path of spiritual, moral and social decadence and destruction by feeding us a daily regime of lies and deceitful rhetoric. The concept is known simply as ‘mind-control.’”

Jones calls for Republicans, conservatives, and Christians to join the Fayette County Republican Party in making a stand and defending the Constitution and President Trump.

The letter caught the eye of state media, including the AJC and local NPR affiliate WABE. AJC columnist Jim Galloway joked that the last memo he had received declared burnt orange as the best color for “turning brain into tapioca pudding.”
