FAYETTE — Throughout the county, American Legion Post 105 has been known to extend its presence through community service, initiatives through interactive programming and embracing veterans of the Armed Forces. Last week, this organization received one of its most prestigious awards.
Fayette County Post 105 has been awarded the Department of Georgia 2022 “Chief” Willis M. Boyd Scouting Award for outstanding support of the Scouting program by the American Legion. Post 105 has been the long time sponsor of Cub Scout Pack 409 in Peachtree City and Troop 309G in Fayetteville.
Shown during the presentation of the award are Dale Barnett, past National Commander, Dave Niebes, Post 105 Scouting Coordinator, Steve Cox, Post member & Scouting volunteer, Bill Cain, Post member & Scouting volunteer, Renee Robb-Truitt, Post 105 Commander, and Ray Willcocks, Post member & Scouting volunteer.
Post 105 meets at the historic Log Cabin in Fayetteville the second Monday of every month.
