The Fayette County News is under new ownership, but the new leader will be familiar to readers and residents of Fayette alike. Geneva Weaver, who has been with the newspaper for the last 15 years and has served as publisher since 2011, and her husband, Fred, have purchased the Fayette County News from Tribble Publications.

Printing the truth since 1886, the Fayette County News is now the only print newspaper in the county, and it is a responsibility Weaver and her staff will not take lightly. The Weavers, through their company GFW Holdings, LLC, will continue the tradition of trustworthy, fair, and balanced reporting.

“We love Fayette County, and we believe in Fayette County. This is where we live, and this is where we chose to raise our family. We are invested in this community,” said Geneva Weaver. “Our readers expect and deserve the best, and that is what we will give them in every issue.”

The newspaper is heading into a new era, and under new leadership, the future is bright.
