Eva L. Granger, 86, of Peachtree City Georgia, passed peacefully at home on September 10, 2019 after a brief illness.
Laverne, as she was known to her friends and family, was born in Needmore, Georgia on October 29, 1932. She married Willis J. Granger on October 2, 1953. During their 48-year marriage, she supported her husband’s military career as well as his 30-plus years as a civil servant, while raising 3 children. She was a loving mother and grandmother (MeMa) and an active member of her church and Sunday school. Laverne enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, as well as local trips to the beach and mountains. At home she loved gardening and feeding and watching her birds (especially blue birds!)
Laverne is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Granger and her son, Greg Granger.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Lawler and husband John; son Stuart Granger and wife Lisa; and grandchildren Emily and Will Lawler, Kyle Granger and Austin Bearup and Jay and Dave Granger.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 13th at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14th at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
The family of Laverne wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her Sunday school class at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City, as well as the doctors and nurses at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
