Elite hoops showcase Queens of the Hardwood returns to Whitewater High Dec. 12

The 4th Annual Queens of the Hardwood Atlanta Classic will be this Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 at Whitewater High in Fayetteville.

This is one of the top all-girls events in Georgia, highlighting over 30 college prospects and state championship contenders in most of the classifications.

The action tips off at 2 p.m. when the host Whitewater girls take on The Galloway School, who is an up and coming top 1A private school program.

The second game features state 1A private powerhouse Greenforest with girls 6’5”, 6’4”, 6’3”, and 6’2” against Griffin, who is currently 3-1.

The third game matches Langston Hughes, who has one of the best backcourts in 6A with Tamia Stargell and Autumn Phillips, against Spalding, who won the state title a few years ago and is currently undefeated.

The fourth game is a rematch of the 5A Elite Eight game from last year with Columbus Carver against Woodward Academy. Woodward Academy is led by Sydney Bowles, who is ranked nationally in the top 10 for the class of 2022. Columbus Carver is led by Clemson signee Kionna Gaines.

The final game matches powerhouse Westlake, who has won the 7A title three times in a row, against McEachern, who has won several state titles. Westlake is led by point guard Raven Johnson, who signed with South Carolina Gamecocks, and 6’2” Brianna Turnage, who has signed with Virginia Tech. McEachern has a solid backcourt led by 6’4” Jillian Hollingshead, who has committed to the University of Georgia.
