On Saturday, July 29, a crash occurred involving two vehicles at the intersection of Fischer Crossing Boulevard in Coweta County, killing a Newnan couple.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m., claiming the lives of Thomas Scott Mayo, 58, and Pamela Mayo, 57. The couple, driving a silver Ford Escape, was traveling east on State Route 34, attempting to make a turn in the left turn lane. At the same time, a black Infiniti was traveling west on State Route 54.

The Infiniti passed straight through the red traffic signal and bumped onto the passenger side of the Escape.
