Charges pending in home invasion shooting

Fayetteville Police on Tuesday said charges are still pending in the Aug. 6 home invasion that resulted in 21-year-old suspect Jordan J. Collinsworth of Fayetteville being shot four times by a resident of a Lakemont subdivision home.
Captain Jeff Harris said Collinsworth is still in the hospital receiving treatment related to the gun shot wounds he received during the incident being investigated. He said it will be important to interview Collinsworth before moving forward with charges.
Police officials reported last week that Collinsworth had been transported from the scene and was listed in critical condition at that time.
According to incident reports, Collinsworth was armed when he allegedly entered a home in the Lakemont subdivision located along Redwine Road in Fayetteville. The son of the homeowner was at home at the time and reportedly grabbed a gun and confronted Collinsworth, shooting multiple rounds, four of which hit Collinsworth.
Police have not yet released the names of the residents.
