Candidates qualify for Nov. 7 ballot

The slate of candidates for November 7’s municipal general election is taking shape with the closing of regular qualifying.

In Peachtree City, Mayor Vanessa Fleisch will face a challenge from former councilman Eric Imker and Dar Thompson. Former mayor Harold Logsdon will vie with Kevin Madden and Sarah Toussaint for Post 3, the seat currently held by Kim Learnard. Learnard hit her term limit of two consecutive four-year terms. Incumbent Terry Ernst is currently unopposed for Post 4.

In Fayetteville, incumbents Scott Stacy (Post 3) and Paul Oddo (Post 5) are unopposed. Three candidates, Rich Hoffman, Brett Nolan, and Gha-is Bashir Paige, have qualified to run for Post 4. Jim Williams is not running for re-election for Post 4.

In Tyrone, incumbent Ken Matthews will face a challenge from Eric Woods, Sr. for Post 3. Incumbent Gloria Furr is unopposed for Post 4.

In Brooks, incumbents Dan Langford (Mayor) and Lewis B. Harper (Post 1) are unopposed. Post 2 will see incumbent Scott Israel face Donald Britt.

In Woolsey, Mayor Gary Laggis and Jack Gilson (Post 3) are unopposed.

Qualifying is open through Friday for write-in candidates.

November 7 will also include voting on an E-SPLOST.
