Burglars come up short-changed in North Fayette

Burglars may have killed two glass doors with one stone early Friday morning up at Rainbow Plaza along Hwy. 85 in northern Fayette County.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating a pair of burglaries that took place there around that time, and they report finding one stone on the floor inside the second of the two businesses burglarized.
According to Public Information Officer Allen Stevens, officers were alerted to the burglaries at 3:03 a.m. Friday, and, when they arrived on the scene, they saw that the glass front doors at both JMC Thrift Store and Dave’s Comics were shattered and someone had entered both stores. In both cases, the cash drawers were pulled out, and in both cases only small amounts of coins were taken from the otherwise empty drawers.
Stevens said as of midday Friday, no other valuables had been reported taken from either location.
