FAYETTEVILLE — The Fayette County News named Bryan Davis as its new publisher and editor on April 4.

Davis, a Mississippi native, is no stranger to the newspaper industry. Over a 15-year career, he has played the role of reporter, editor, and publisher at four different newspapers.

“It is an honor to be able to lead a great team and organization like The Fayette County News. I look forward to serving this community and Fayette County as a whole.” Davis said.

Like so many others, Davis was drawn to Fayette County for its successful school system, kind community and proximity to Atlanta.

“As a family, we have been so impressed with the warmth and hospitality shown to us by folks in Fayette County,” Davis said. “I look forward to personally meeting more people in the days and weeks ahead. Reach out to me any time to schedule a meeting or a lunch. My door is wide open, and I’m available 24/7 to help in any way.”

As an advent Atlanta Braves fan, Davis says he and his wife, Callie, and his two daughters, Ellie, and Sarah, have visited the Atlanta area many times.

“I’ve been very familiar with Atlanta for a long time,” Davis said. “We said that if we ever moved, the community we went to had to check off a lot of boxes.”

Davis will write a weekly column for the Fayette County News, which can be found in both print and digital mediums.
