BOE analyzes enhanced security at schools

Enhanced security features have been installed at all of the county schools, and the Board of Education got a look at all that entails at their Sept. 9 work session.

The Checkmate Pro systems installed at every school require every school guest or substitute teacher to check in at the front office on arrival. They scan their driver’s license and receive a sticker badge with their photo and destination within the school.

The national sex offender database will also be instantly checked when the license is scanned.

A ‘who is in the building’ report provides a list of visitors that have not checked out via the kiosk.

Students can also check in and out with the kiosk as it integrates with Infinite Campus attendance records.

The system will also allow the front office to quickly verify that an adult is authorized to check out the student.
