2020 Showdown at Senoia Raceway to be continued

by Riley Hicks

Well race fans, the weather got to Senoia Raceway once again last month, causing the track officials to make the decision to postpone the final night of the 2020 Showdown. The Showdown will now resume Saturday November 21, and every race will still be on the docket, including the Super Late Models racing in the annual Billy Clanton Classic.

Last year, this race was won by young driver Ashton Winger, who looks to return and reclaim his title for a consecutive time. He will have quite a task at hand with some stiff competition right behind him looking to come along and put their names into the Senoia Raceway record books, like Billy’s son Shane Clanton. The Supers will be followed by the Crate and Late Model Sportsman Red Clay Series racing for $1000. The Hobbies will also be in action making up their $3000 to win race with the Southern Outlaw Hobby Series honoring Zach Jones. This already packed night will conclude with the Mini Stocks, Chargers, and Hotshots.

Ticket prices for Saturday night in the grandstands are $25 for adults with kids 12 and under being admitted in free. Pit passes are $40 with 5-12 being $20. Having such a packed schedule, the racing will get started early with hot laps and qualifying beginning at 1 p.m., followed by track prep and awards ceremony at 5 p.m. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and the races can finally be completed and cap off a wild 2020 racing season.
