PTC OKs council pay hike

The Peachtree City Council will get a raise in January.

City Manager Jon Rorie said the council members have not received a raise in their $1,000 a month salary since 2007.

Council salaries would increase from $1,000 to $1,200 per month, and the mayoral salary would increase from $1,500 a month to $1,800 a month. The budget impact would be just over $12,000 per year.

In an earlier meeting, Councilman Kevin Madden noted the city had made market increases for public safety employees, and a raise could help lure more people to the elections.

Zoning for massive mixed-used community reverts

The much-discussed Folia Crossroads multi-use community is no longer in the immediate plans for Fayetteville after the City Council voted Thursday night to revert the zoning back to Single Family Residential. 

On August 2, 2018, Council approved the request from BCM Construction, who was working with the property owners, to rezone the land to Planned Community Development so they could build Folia Crossroads, a 144.91-acre mixed-use development on Hwy. 54 West with up to 265 single-family homes, a boutique hotel, and retail, office, and restaurant space.
