Born on Feb. 29, 1936, to John and Mable Lord, William E. Lord departed his earthly life to enter heaven on August 4, 2018. He spent his childhood in Fayetteville, GA. After serving in the U. S. Army, he and his wife, Eunice, made their home in Morrow for nearly 35 years before moving to Stockbridge where they have been for the last 20 years. After retiring from Ford Motor Company, he opened his own insurance company continuing to work for several more years. After finally retiring, he enjoyed working in his yard, going fishing and visiting with his family as they were the true joy of his life. He attended Salem Baptist Church in McDonough where he loved the Wednesday morning worship services. William E. Lord is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eunice Lord; daughters, Cheryl Smith (Randy) and Debi Mason; grandchildren, Jennifer Humphry, Jamie Yawn, Alexander Mason and Evan Smith; seven great-grandchildren; brother, John A. Lord (Miriam); sister, Martha Moore; sister-in-law, Priscilla Epstein; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Richard Stathan officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation in William E. Lord’s name be made to Salem Baptist Church at 1724 Hwy. 155 N., McDonough, GA 30252.
