Suicide at substation causes power outage

The Tyrone Police Department is continuing its investigation into a suicide Saturday morning that left one man dead and some residents in Tyrone without power.

Police spokesperson Phillip Nelson said the incident started around 6:30 a.m. Aug 24 when a video feed from the substation on Senoia Road indicated a person in the substation.

When the police arrived, they discovered the body of Warren Crocker, 36, of Fayette County. Police said he had been electrocuted, and some residents in Tyrone discovered themselves without power. Nelson said there were unconfirmed reports that residents of Fairburn were also without power for a brief period Saturday morning.

Police originally thought a burglary was taking place, but have since ruled that out as a motive.
