Road rage incident turns violent

An apparent fit of road rage led to an assault at Fayette Pavilion.

On Sunday at around 5:30 p.m., Alancea Moore, a 23-year-old from East Point, cut off a vehicle turning onto Pavilion Parkway. The driver of the vehicle that was cut off said, “You need to slow down. There’s people walking out here,” according to Fayetteville Police Capt. Mike Whitlow.

Words were exchanged, and Moore pulled up beside the other driver, and said to her, “What if I shoot your a** right now, b****?” Moore brandished a handgun, which caused the victim to call 911.

Moore then exited her car without the handgun, started “spitting” on the victim’s car, pushed the mirror in, and got back in her car and left while the victim stayed on the phone.

The officer located Moore, and she was arrested for aggravated assault and received a citation for no insurance.

“We’re fortunate it didn’t turn into a shooting,” Whitlow said.
