Peachtree City opened the door to booking more events at The Fred Amphitheater with a budget amendment for $295,000 at their most recent city council meeting.

“This is simply so that we can increase utilization of The Fred amphitheater, especially in the fringe seasons,” said Financial Services Director Paul Salvatore. “We have some nice weather like this past October and it just sat there not being used.”

There is no obligation to spend the full $295,000, or any of it for that matter, merely the opportunity to add additional events if they make sense. Family fun nights, movies, and additional concerts were mentioned among possibilities.

“If we don’t have 10 acts, we don’t pay for 10 acts,” said City Manager Jon Rorie. “We’re paying for the facility, we’re maintaining the facility, we might as well maximize the use of the facility.”
