Fayetteville Police on Monday morning revealed that the woman found dead in her car on Friday afternoon in a McDonald’s parking lot was 20-year-old Samantha Anita Moore, a Fayetteville resident.

According to police reports, a customer at the McDonald’s located in the middle of Fayetteville at Hwy. 85 and Hwy. 92 noticed Moore sitting alone and possibly in need of medical attention in her older model Honda Prelude and they dialed 911. That was around 2:11 p.m. Friday.

The Prelude was parked in a space facing Kathi Avenue, and Public Information Officer Lt. Mike Whitlow said it appears that Moore drove into the parking lot and parked but did not enter the restaurant or the drive-through lane.

Whitlow said investigators still believe there was no foul play involved in the death, which appeared to be drug-related, though he said Monday morning they won’t know the cause of death for certain until reports come back from Georgia Bureau of Investigations’ medical examiners.

Within minutes of Moore’s discovery in the McDonald’s parking lot, Moore’s friends and family poured out their expressions of grief and condolences on social media, including Facebook, where Moore was known as Sam Claad Moore.
