The Lady Chiefs are Elite Eight bound. With a 17-7 victory over the King’s Ridge Christian Tigers on Monday night, McIntosh has punched their pass to the quarterfinals of the girls lacrosse playoffs.
The Tigers provided a formidable test early, trading goals with the Chiefs in the opening minutes. McIntosh struck first with a Sammy Morgan assist to Ryann Banks for the game’s opening point, and King’s Ridge responded less than a minute later. McIntosh notched their second goal with Kate Cullen setting up Lucy Stone, and King’s Ridge answered again.
Tied at 2-2, McIntosh’s Savannah Moore locked down the Tigers in goal, keeping them from scoring again until under four minutes remained in the half.
The Chiefs withstood the challenge and reeled off seven unanswered goals thanks to Blaise Degolian, Cullen, Morgan, Stone, and three more goals by Banks.
Cami Giorgi joined the scoring party with just 11 seconds left in the half to stake her Chiefs to a 10-3 halftime lead.
King’s Ridge opened the second half with a goal, but McIntosh was unfazed. They strung together another six unanswered goals to put the game out of reach. Goals from Grace Keim, Cullen, Banks, Morgan, and a pair by Stone made it 16-4 with 10 minutes left to play.
With substitutes entering the game for the Chiefs, the Tigers kept pushing and scored three goals. McIntosh finished the game off with another goal by Keim to seal the final 17-7 margin.
Ryann Banks paced the Chiefs with a game-high 5 goals, followed by Lucy Stone with 4 goals.
