GBI busts Tyrone resident in sex case

A Tyrone man is behind bars in Fayette County after federal agents executed a search warrant at his home.

On April 30, the GBI went to Andrew Martz’s home at in Tyrone. According to Special Agent Debbie Garner, Martz was charged for violation of OCGA 16-12-100(b)(8).

The statute covers sexual exploitation of children and the code section reads: “It is unlawful for any person knowingly to possess or control any material which depicts a minor or a portion of a minor’s body engaged in any sexually explicit conduct.”

The arrest report provided by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department shows Martz charged with three counts of child sexual exploitation.

Garner said that was all the information the GBI could release at this time.
