Domestic issue escalates to rammed car, shot fired

Alvin Treon Crouch is under arrest after he allegedly followed the mother of his child in his car, ramming her vehicle, and firing into her car.

A custody dispute turned violent Thursday night, resulting in ramming cars and one family member shot.

Alvin Treon Crouch, 27 of Fayetteville, is under arrest after he allegedly followed the mother of his child in his car, ramming her vehicle, and firing into her car.

The victim said she and the child’s father had a verbal altercation in reference to Crouch wanting their child. After the child was dropped off at a residence on South Jeff Davis, the victim said Crouch followed her in his vehicle. Crouch allegedly rammed her car with his before firing into her vehicle. The bullet went through the back door on the driver’s side before striking the victim’s mother in the leg.

The victim pulled into a residence on Callaway Road and blew her horn in hopes of getting help, where a call was placed to 911.

Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies went to the residence where the child had been dropped off and took Crouch into custody without incident and charged him with aggravated assault and battery. Additional charges are expected, especially traffic charges related to Crouch ramming the victim’s car, as the investigation continues.

The victim’s mother was transported to Grady Hospital, but is not believed to be facing any life-threatening injuries.
