The Fayetteville Police Department on Feb. 25 announced an arrest of a suspect in connection with two aggravated assault cases.
Jamar Ladann Odom was arrested by the U.S. Marshall’s Office on the charge of aggravated assault with a gun in connection with the Feb. 2 residential shooting of two homes on Jeff Davis Place, Fayetteville Public Information Officer Ann Marie Burdett said.
Burdett said the strange series of events started at 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block area of Jeff Davis Place. The homeowner heard a gun being fired and called the police. When the police arrived, they discovered a small bullet hole in a wall and a window into the home. A bullet was not discovered, but the homeowner did hear screeching tires leave the scene after the gunshot.
Then, just after 5 a.m., the department got another call for more gunshots in the 200 block of Jeff Davis Place.
Burdett said the homeowner saw someone running from the scene. The possible suspect was approximately 6’1″, wearing dark pants, a light jacket, and a knit sock hat on his head.
