Antioch-Goza roundabout work moves ahead

Work on the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Antioch and Goza Roads is progressing well. At Thursday night’s meeting, the County Board of Commissioners approved authorizing staff to acquire all right-of-way, easements, and appraisals needed for the project.

According to Public Works Director Phil Mallon, the consultant has completed 100 percent plans for the construction, and county staff is in the process of final review.

“We tried to fast track this as fast as possible, and I’m glad to see these plans,” said Chairman Eric Maxwell, asking Mallon to “continue to put pressure on whoever you need to put pressure on, and if you need any of our help just let us know.”

The roundabout solution was approved in fall of 2017, and it will be paid for with funds from the 2004 SPLOST.
